Sponsored Toddle & Pram Push!

Sponsored Toddle and Pram Push at Rufford Park, Saturday 8th May, 2pm onwards

In order to help raise some much needed funds for our club, we are planning to hold another sponsored walk and pram push on Saturday 8th May, at Rufford Country Park, from 2pm onwards.

Our aim is to help the fundraising committee raise at least £200 to help finance our clubs valuable work with Multiple Birth Families in Bassetlaw, through the production of our Multiple Antenatal Packs and to help fund the Jo Jingles sessions at the monthly twinsclub session at Hallcroft Children’s Centre.

We hope that each family will join in and support the sponsored toddle and pram push to the best of its ability! Hopefully, our third sponsored toddle and pram push will follow on from last year and be another huge success, so the more contributions you raise; the more successful we’ll be at achieving our ambitions.

If you would like further information or a sponsor form please contact Elaine on (01777) 706730 or email: retfordmultiples@tiscali.co.uk

We look forward to seeing you there!

Jo Jingles at Twinsclub!

Jo Jingles at Retford & District Twins & Triplets Club!

Continuing in 2010 our regular Hallcroft twinsclub meeting, on the fourth Tuesday of each month,  will incorporate a  Jo Jingles session!

What is Jo Jingles?

Jo Jingles provides fun music, singing and movement classes for babies and young children. Trained and experienced presenters run the UK's most popular music and movement experience.

What does Jo Jingles do?

Jo Jingles teaches children to play percussion instruments expressively, to sing songs, hold a tune and find the rhythm to move and dance to.  Most importantly children have lots of fun and everybody joins in.

Jo Jingles classes are carefully structured.  Each week different educational themes are introduced using well- known  nursery rhymes and action songs.

How does music help children?

Music is vital to a child's development-

  • Music helps children to develop communication & numeracy skills
  • Music helps children to improve physical co-ordination
  • Music helps to introduce children to routine & discipline
  • Music helps children to gain confidence, develop self-esteem and independence
  • Music helps children to interact and develop social skills

Above all .............Music is FUN!!

The sessions for twinsclub are booked from 2pm and each session lasts for about 30 minutes.

Hope to see you all there!

Christmas Party 2009!

Retford & District Twins & Triplets Club Christmas Party!

This year we are once again chickening out of braving the outdoors and we’re heading for Captain Jack’s Adventure in Retford. Anyone who braved our trip to White Post a couple of Christmases ago will know why! Brrrrr!

We have hired Captain Jack’s soft play centre in Retford for our sole use on Sunday, December 6th from 9 - 11am, to hold our Christmas get-together for club members.

We would be very grateful if you could r.s.v.p your invitations, which will be winging their way to you soon, to enable us to cater for the event.

So make a note of the date and time and we’ll see you there!

Tamba 30th Birthday Picnic

TAMBA 30th Birthday Picnic

On 23rd August, we joined in the nationwide celebration of TAMBA’s 30th Birthday by holding a picnic in Clumber Park. In true style, this was no ordinary picnic!

Ready for what the British Summer could throw at us, we organised for a marquee to be set up, however, we seem to be blessed in Retford and District Twins and Triplets Club, since the day proved to be a glorious summer’s afternoon. We pitched up in the barbeque area which gave us plenty of space and we were not disappointed. At least 10 families with multiples joined us to celebrate, coming not only from the local club but from further a field.

During the afternoon there was plenty to keep our twins and triplets entertained, including a face painter who did a terrific job turning our babes into little monsters as well as beautiful butterflies and also Caterpillar Music provided a great afternoon of playing instruments, singing nursery rhymes and dancing. Another highlight of the day came in the form of a sensational ‘30’ birthday cake, made by one of our committee members.

Finally a raffle with some amazing prizes, including tickets for the Manchester United Tour & Museum, The Deep, Magna and Captain Jack’s were drawn.

A truly great afternoon was had by all!

And Finally…..

Huge thanks to all the businesses and attractions listed below, who kindly donated prizes and family days out for our raffle, which took place on August 23rd at the Tamba Picnic.

Their support for the club is greatly appreciated!
